Jasper, In. Republican Indiana state representative Mike Braun from Jasper has announced his candidacy for the U.S. senate seat currently held by Joe Donnelly.
The Republican side of the primary is now made up of congressmen Luke Messer & Todd Rokita, Kokomo attorney Mark Hurt and Braun.
Braun is the owner and president of Myer Distributing in Jasper. The company has more than 40 locations that supply 10,000 customers in all 50 states. He also serves on the Jasper School Board.
Donnelly has been considered as one of the most vulnerable democrats in the 2018 election cycle.
