Jarred Dean Meinders, 48, of Milan passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at his home. Jarred was born on Tuesday, July 15, 1975, in Batesville; son of Donald and Betty (Hollingsworth) Meinders. Jarred worked for Southeastern Indiana REMC in generator installation and service. Jarred was involved in many REMC outreach programs such as Touchstone Energy Use Camp where he volunteered to teach children about electric, a member of Ripley County Health Department Advisory Board, and a member of the Sons of American Legion in Milan. He was the president of Delaware Fire Department, a member of the Batesville Fire Department and EMS, and judged 4H projects in various counties in Southeastern Indiana. Jarred was passionate about going to all his daughter’s events and serving his community. Jarred most of all cherished spending time with his loving family.
Jarred will be greatly missed by his daughter Shayla Meinders of Carmel; son Austin Masters of Anderson; brother Jeff (Leah) Meinders of Milan; sisters Ginny (Kirk) Yorn of Batesville, Jackie (Vanessa) Meinders of Columbus, Chelsa (Melvin “Mutt”) Dwenger of Osgood, and Christal (Curtis) Musser of Otterbein; and mother of his daughter Tory Masters of Ridgeville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jarred was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Betty Meinders.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Jarred from 4:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. The Sons of American Legion will have a walkthrough at 7:00 PM, followed by a service held by the local volunteer fire departments. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, January 3, 2024, also at the funeral home, with Father Shaun Whittington officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Jarred to the Delaware Fire Department or Ripley County 4H Corporation.
