Janice I. Reiners, 88, Sunman

Janice Irene (Neeley) Reiners, born October 30, 1937, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved her. She was born to Fred and Dolores Neeley, who preceded her in death. Janice was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert Reiners, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and strength touched many lives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Steven Wood, and is survived by her son, Gregory Wood; her stepchildren, Christine (Tim) Brock, Barbara (Robert) Kraus, Dennis (Kim) Reiners, and Melissa (Matt) Rosemeyer. Janice leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Alexandra Reiners, Lauren Reiners, Ross Rosemeyer, Brendon Reiners, Luke Rosemeyer, and Olivia Rosemeyer, as well as her beloved bonus grandchild, Nick Smith, who held a very special place in her heart. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Henry Martin, Kinsley Craig, Heidi Reiners, and Haley Simpson.

Janice was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and the Women’s Republican Club, where she enjoyed friendship and fellowship. After graduating from high school, she began her career at General Electric in Evendale, Ohio, before choosing to devote herself to raising her family. She later returned to the workforce, working as a secretary at Allen & Wood Plumbing, and eventually at NuTone in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she remained until her retirement.

Janice was a lover of all animals, especially horses and birds, and found joy in tending to flowers and the beauty of nature around her. She held that same affection for her cherished grand dogs, who were always welcomed with treats, attention, and plenty of love. Janice also found quiet joy in reading and a good cup of coffee. She and Robert treasured time spent boating with family at their second home in Patriot, Indiana, along the Ohio River, creating countless memories together. Winters were often spent at their home in Sarasota, Florida, where Janice enjoyed time with close friends and a warm, slower pace of life.

Above all else, Janice’s world revolved around her grandchildren. She rarely missed a school event, sporting activity, 4-H fair, or scout program, and took immense pride in everything they did. Janice had a special gift for making everyone feel cared for. She always made sure family and friends were well fed, comfortable, and had everything they needed. Her home was a place of love, warmth, and welcome.
