James William “Jim” Gorman, 85, of Mission Hills, California passed away Monday, September 7, 2026, at his home. Jim was born on Thursday, July 17, 1941, in Cincinnati; son of Lauralouise (Rettig) Gorman. Jim worked in construction for 20+ years. He enjoyed reading, fixing up cars and homes, and was always working or tinkering on something. He loved coin collecting and he took great pride in taking care of his family.
Jim will be missed by his sisters Patricia “Patti” Smith of Milan and Barbara Ontiveros of Studio City, California; sister-in-law Melanie Gorman of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother Lauralouise Gorman; brother Russell Gorman; and brother-in-law Richard Ontiveros.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Jim from 10:00- 11:30 a.m., Friday, September 25, 2026, at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home. Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will follow at New Craven Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of James to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
