James U. “Jim” Sechrest Jr., 71, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021.
He was born June 29, 1950, in Batesville, IN, son of the late James U. Sechrest Sr. and Christina (Sheldon) Sechrest.
He worked as a laborer for Schenley, retiring after over 20 years of service.
Jim attended The Alliance Church as a child with his family. He loved to tinker around in the garage and fish. He enjoyed time with family and he will be greatly missed by them all.
Jim is survived by his sons, Travis Atkins (Jodie Peters) of Edgewood, KY, James D. Sechrest of Aurora, IN, Andrew Sechrest (Lisa Collins) of Aurora, IN; ex-wife: Linda Sechrest; grandchildren, Sierra, Breshay, and Draven Sechrest, and Daytona Collins; siblings, Nancy Sechrest, David Sechrest, Steve Sechrest all of South Bend, IN, Jerry Sechrest of Aurora, IN. and Kathy (Tim) Southard of LaGrange, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received for a Memorial Visitation on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.
A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM.
