James R. Blair

James R. Blair 89, of Moores Hill, Indiana, passed away Monday November 5, 2018 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

He was born December 13, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Fred Blair and Mildred (Staut) Blair.
He served his country as a member of the United States Army.

James worked as a Carpenter for Roy A Miller & Sons, with over 35 years of service. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union for over 50 years.

James was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he also served on the Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Aurora VFW and a member of the Moores Hill American Legion. James was also on the Board of Directors for River View Cemetery.

In his younger years James bowled 3 nights a week. James would read the newspaper every day. His faith and family were very important to James and he will be greatly missed.

James is survived by his children, Janet (Steve) Hart of Aurora, IN, Judy Blair of Fredericktown, OH, James Blair, Jr. of Moores Hill, IN; step children, Linda (Bill) Butte of Milan, IN, J.D. “Jake” Largent, of Aurora, IN, Kathi (Jack) Prarat of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, Camila Buschur, Tim (Misty) Buschur, Andrew Buschur, Kenneth Blair, Aaron (Ashley) Baker, Casey Baker, Travis Butte, Jennifer Largent, Jason D. Largent, Jason M. Largent, Tina (Travis) Meyer, Shane McHenry, Matt (MaryAnn) Prarat, Emily Prarat; 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; spouses, Nellie Jean (McCoy) Blair and Virginia (Jackson) Blair.

Friends will be received Wednesday, November 7, 2018, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 304 Third Street, Aurora, Indiana 47001.

Services will be held at the church on Thursday at 11:00 am with Pastor Ellaine Hussung officiating.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
