
Jimbo was a friend to everyone he met. He loved to talk and could spend hours carrying on a conversation with a complete stranger. He also enjoyed McDonald’s, classic cars, Diet Pepsi, and Diet 7-Up. Above all else, Jimbo treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and loved every moment he could share with them.
On Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the age of 74, Jimbo passed away peacefully at Manderley Healthcare Center in Osgood.
Those surviving who will cherish Jimbo’s memory include his two children, Ricky (Mary) Calhoun and Daisy Calhoun; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Noah, Isaiah, Abagale, Taylor, Morgan, Boyce, and Jayce; nine siblings, Janetter Calhoun, Sue Obermeyer, Johnny Calhoun, Homer Calhoun, Janice (Steve) Hountz, Gene Calhoun, Timmy (Susan) Calhoun, Zelda (roger) Force, and Renee (Larry) Smith; and one sister-in-law, Debbie Calhoun. In addition to his parents and his wife, Peggy, Jimbo was preceded in death by three siblings, Robert “Bob” Calhoun, Bonnie Sloan, and David Calhoun.
In keeping with Jimbo’s wishes, cremation was chosen. The family will hold a Life Celebration on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Sunman Community Park – Campbell Building, 225 N. Fitch Avenue, Sunman, Indiana 47041 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Pastor Travis Uribe will preside over the service which will begin at 5 p.m. Inurnment will occur at a future date in Gibson Cemetery located in Bright, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to help defray funeral expenses. Checks may be made payable to Debbie Calhoun. Donations will be accepted in person at the Life Celebration, or they can be mailed to Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 185, Sunman, Indiana 47041.
