James Herald Raider of Andersonville, Indiana passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. The son of James and Virginia (Matney) Raider was born on November 22, 1951 in Rushville, IN.
James graduated from Laurel High School in 1971. He worked as a truck operator for Farm Bureau Co-op in Rushville. He attended the Buena Missionary Baptist Church.
James enjoyed sitting outside, playing games on his tablet and doing word searches. He loved spending time with family and friends and would call his grandson Xander to talk on the phone for hours.
He will be missed by his daughter, Gretchin Wilson, grandson, Xander Wilson; wife, Rickie Raider; his brother, Randy Raider (Sandy); sisters, Sue Gurley (Greg) and Regina Jeffries (Joe); along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Raider and son-in-law, Jason Wilson.
Visitation will be Monday, July 17, 2023 from 11:00am – 2:00pm with 2:00pm Funeral Services immediately following, all at Buena Missionary Baptist Church, 25220 Chapel Rd., Laurel, IN 47024. Pastor Rob Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery in Rush County, IN.
