J.H. track recaps from Monday, April 25

The following are junior high track recaps from Monday, April 25.  There may be updates, so please check back.

In a junior high tri meet, Batesville, North Decatur and St. Louis finished first, second and third respectively in both the boys and girls competitions.

BMS had one triple individual winner.  That was Dylan Comer.  Double Dog winners included: Mimi Smith, Paige Allgeier, Ella King, and Cannon Clark.  Single vics went to: Katie Lipps, Zaiden Small and Simon Berkemeier.  BMS also won four relay events.

ND individual blues were taken by Eli Weisenbach, Conner Goolsby, Sarah Moeller and Ava Lecher.

St. Louis, Cayden Lieland earned a win. (More information follows the recaps.)

Unedited reports from coaches…

Batesville’s Meghan Fledderman-Both the boy’s and girl’s Batesville Middle School Track and Field teams won by large margins against North Decatur and St. Louis. The coaches couldn’t be more excited to watch them in their next meet, Thursday, against Greensburg. It is always tough to run/throw/jump on a Monday, but the kids really pushed themselves – giving a great effort.

North Decatur’s Destiny Brown- A great night for the Charger Boys. Kicking off field events Nolan Barber takes 2nd in Shot Put (28’5.5″) and Tyler Stephen with 4th (27’5″). Tyler also placed 4th in Discus (55’8.5″). Branden McBride placed 3rd in Long Jump (13’11”) as well as his 100M Dash setting a new personal record of 12.84s! Branden also placed 4th in the 200M Dash (30.21s). Eli Weisenbach also setting a new personal record in his 1600m run of 5:58s, taking 1st in Hurdles (19.31s), and 2nd in Long Jump (15’8″). Conner Goolsby set the pace in the 800M with a 1st place time of 2:45s. Lastly, ND’s 4x400M Relay (Henry Kinker, Harper Gunn, Kipton Ruf, and Eli Weisenbach) set a personal record and took 2nd place with 5:00 flat. Great work Chargers!

North Decatur’s Breanna Morris- The North Decatur JH girls team had a great night last night at their 3-way meet. Some highlights from the meet at:

  • Sarah Moeller – 1st in hurdles and 1st in high jump
  • Layla Fellows – 3rd in the 100
  • Ava Lecher – 1st in the 400
  • Sara Litmer – 3rd in shot
  • Sophie Rohls – 3rd in long jump and 2nd in high jump

St. Louis’ Jason Frey- St. Louis Catholic School competed in a tri-meet with North Decatur on 4/25/2022. St. Louis boys finished in 3rd place with 23 points. Cayden Lieland finished first in discus with a throw of 77’10.5″. Cayden finished 3rd in shot put with a throw of 29′ 11″. Jeff Gerstbauer finished 3rd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.78 seconds. Griffin Koester finished 3rd in the 400 meters with a time of 65.44 seconds. Griffin Koester was second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:25.72. Adam Weber was third with a time of 5:48.97. The 4×400 meter relay team finished second with a time of 4:53 composed of Adam Weber, Ethan Rahschulte, Damian Brelage, Griffin Koester.

The girls finished 3rd with 24.5 points. Rachel Suttman finished 2nd in shot put with a personal record of 30′ 9″ and 2nd in discus with a throw of 73’3″. Felicity Brelage finished 3rd in discus with a personal record of 62′ 3″. Belle Young finished second in hurdles with 19.15 seconds, a personal record. Belle Young finished second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.51 seconds. The 4×100 meter relay team was second with a time of 58.89 seconds composed of Rachel Suttman, Ava Becker, Belle Young, and Felicity Brelage. The 4×400 meter relay team finished second with a personal record time of 4:59 composed of Rachel Suttman, Sophia Hoehenstein, Belle Young, and Felicity Brelage.
