(Lawrenceburg, IN) – Ivy Tech Community College will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Lawrenceburg Lakefront Campus with a special ceremony open to the public from 1 to 6 p.m. October 22 at the campus.
The Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg Lakefront Campus anniversary celebration will feature a presentation on the campus’ legacy; tours of the campus; information for high school students, parents, and adult learners interested in advancing their education; and the opportunity to learn about academic programs offered at the campus. Community members are welcome to attend the celebration.
Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg Chancellor Mark Graver and Chancellor Emeritus Jim Helms will present at 1 p.m. October 22 the campus legacy presentation, focusing on the founding of the Lakefront Campus and how it has helped students connect with in-demand careers and educational offerings over the last 25 years.
“The Lakefront Campus is strategically located to help Ivy Tech serve students interested in a variety of fields meet their academic and career goals,” Graver said. “The college has intentionally grown the academic programming at the Lakefront Campus to align with the needs of our area residents and employers, ensuring we are providing educational pathways that benefit our communities as a whole.”
Tours of the campus will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will be offered every 30 minutes. Anyone interested in learning about advancing their education or academic programs can visit the celebration at any time to discuss opportunities with Ivy Tech faculty and staff.
The Lakefront Campus opened in 1999 at 500 Industrial Drive in Lawrenceburg as a new facility to integrate with the local advanced manufacturing industry, provide training for the area workforce, and give students a pathway to manufacturing careers.
Over the years, Ivy Tech’s academic offerings at the campus expanded beyond advanced manufacturing to include programs in Information Technology, Pharmaceutical Technology, and Commercial Driver’s License training. In 2016, Ivy Tech strengthened its commitment to advanced manufacturing education with the 12,000-square-foot Advanced Manufacturing & Technology Center addition to the Lakefront Campus.
Ivy Tech now offers more than a dozen academic programs at the Lakefront Campus, including Advanced Automation & Robotics Technology, Design Technology, Industrial Technology (Electrical & Mechanical), Machine Tool Technology, Smart Manufacturing, Welding, Computer Science, Cloud Technologies, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Informatics, Information Technology Support, Software Development, Pharmacy Technician, and Commercial Driver’s License Training.
“The Lakefront Campus has a strong heritage of serving our area counties,” Graver said. “We are excited to celebrate its history, and we look forward to continuing to provide affordable, accessible education for all students.”
