Ivy Tech announces tuition, fee increases

Indianapolis, Ind. —Ivy Tech students will be paying more for classes in the fall of 2017.

The cost per credit hour will increase $2.70 in the 2017-18 class year to $137.85. Another $2.76 for the 2018-19 school year to $140.61.

The out-of-state credit hour rate will increase by $5.29 this fall to $269.69. For the 2018-19 school year the out-of-state rate will increase $5.39 to $275.08.

The $60 per semester technology fee for students will also increase by $15 in 2018.

School officials say the increases are needed to fund degree and certificate programs for high-wage, high-demand disciplines. The increases will also fund career coaching, faculty development, improved technology and new classroom equipment.

A public hearing regarding the increase will be held May 19 at the Ivy Tech campus in downtown Indianapolis.
