Jennings County/Mitchell, IN — Indiana State Police are investigating a pair of deadly officer-involved shootings over the weekend.
ISP detectives from the Versailles Post say 29-year-old Devin Lark of Seymour fled on foot from Jennings County Sheriff’s deputies trying to serve an arrest warrant Friday afternoon.
Investigators say he showed a gun during the chase and refused to drop it when ordered.
A deputy fired a single shot and hit Lark.
He was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital where he later died.
None of the Jennings County deputies were injured.
A suspect is dead and two officers are recovering after an exchange of gunfire in Mitchell early Sunday morning.
State troopers say 29-year-old Anthony Richmond of West Baden Springs fired several rounds at a Lawrence County deputy and a Mitchell police officer during a traffic stop.
The officers returned fire and struck Richmond several times.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
