ISP Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting Near Connersville

(Fayette County, IN) – Indiana State Police detectives are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened during a standoff in the Connersville area Wednesday night.

Troopers say Connersville Police, Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies and SWAT were called to a domestic disturbance.

Police learned that a woman escaped the residence before they arrived, but 42-year-old Brandon Boughner was barricaded inside.

ISP says he refused to leave the home and eventually fired a rifle at police, who returned fire.

Boughner was struck at least once and taken to a local hospital before he was transferred to a Dayton Ohio facility.

Investigators say his condition is not known.

None of the officers at the scene were injured.
