ISP investigating officer-involved shooting in Cedar Grove

CEDAR GROVE, IN — Indiana State Police-Versailles Post detectives are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened around 10:30 Friday night in Franklin County.

Investigators say Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Main Street in Cedar Grove after receiving a report of a suicidal man with a gun.

State Police say the man fired at least one shot at deputies, who then returned fire and struck the man at least once.

The deputies provided immediate medical attention to the suspect, who was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment.

His condition is not known.

None of the deputies were injured.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office requested ISP conduct the investigation, which is ongoing.

The name of the suspect and the officers involved are being withheld.

Once the investigation is concluded, the case will be forwarded to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
