ISP investigating inmate death in Bartholomew County

Columbus, In. — Indiana State Police are investigating the death of an inmate in the Bartholomew County Jail over the weekend.

Jail staff determined Angela Blair, 42, of Elizabethtown, needed medical attention in her cell around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Blair collapsed and became unresponsive when jail staff began to offer medical attention. She was pronounced dead at Columbus Regional Hospital by the Bartholomew County coroner.

Blair was serving a sentence for probation violations related to drug-related charges.

The results of a Sunday autopsy are pending.
