ISP IDs victims in Jefferson County death investigation

(Jefferson County, IN) – The names of the four people whose bodies were found inside a burning home near Madison on Tuesday have been disclosed.

35-year-old Naomi Briner and her three children – 12-year-old Adelia, 8-year-old Leland, and 6-year-old Iyla Briner – were found dead in the home.

Indiana State Police say all four had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

The investigation is ongoing, and troopers say they do not believe there is a threat to the public.

(Jefferson County, IN) – Detectives with the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post are investigating the deaths of four people after their bodies were found inside a burning home in Jefferson County just outside of Madison.

Upon arriving at the burning home on Telegraph Hill Road shortly after 4 pm Tuesday, firefighters entered the residence and located the bodies of the four victims.

Despite life saving measures, all four were pronounced dead at the scene. After the fire was put out, State Police investigators were called to the scene.

Troopers say the names of the victims are being withheld pending proper identification.

Autopsies are scheduled to be performed in Hamilton County, Ohio to determine the cause and manner of death.

ISP is working with the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office, plus the Jefferson County Sheriff’s, Prosecutor’s, and Coroner’s offices during the investigation.
