Iris Ann Glass, 95, of New Point, Indiana passed away on June 18, 2023. Born February 26, 1928 in Rushville, IN the daughter of Raymond and Delena (Swinford) Deiwert.
She married Gene Hatton on June 15, 1947 and he preceded her in death, October 11, 1967. She then married Thomas E. Glass on December 28, 1973 and he preceded her in death July 19, 2010.
Iris was a homemaker and worked several years at Decatur County REMC, Decatur County Extension Service and Bohn Aluminum. She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting and gardening. She was a member of the New Point Christian Church and a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of New Point.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Charles) Chandler of Lexington, KY and Sandra (Bob) Robbins of Columbus, IN; two sons, Darrell (Debbie) Hatton of Greensburg, IN and Lyle Hatton of Greensburg, IN; two step-daughters-in-law, Becki Glass of Cleves, OH and Sally Glass of Springfield, OH; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Bill Deiwert, a step-sister June Deiwert, two step-brothers James Johnson and Chester Johnson and two step-sons Michael Glass and Tim Glass.
Visitation will be Friday, June 23, 2023 from 5-7pm with 11:00am funeral services on Saturday, June 24th all at New Point Christian Church. Mark Vice officiating. Burial will follow at Clarksburg Cemetery in Clarksburg, IN.
