Irene (Caudill) Gray, 84, of Sunman passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Irene was born on Friday, June 7, 1940, in Hazard, Kentucky; daughter of Howard and Gladys (Madden) Caudill. Irene married the love of her life, Charles L. Gray, and he preceded her in death in 2002. Irene was an LPN for 15+ years at Woodland Hills but had a career in healthcare for 40 years. She was a member of the Milan American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and loved to cook. Most of all Irene cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Irene will be missed by her sons Charles E. (Sharon) Gray of Sunman and Timothy “Tim” (Karen) Gray of Sunman; brothers Don (Gerri) Caudill of Milan, John Caudill of Milan, and Robert “Bob” Caudill of Versailles; sisters Brenda Bates of Sunman and Tina (Stan) Stenton of Florida; 6 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Gladys Caudill; husband Charles Gray; daughters Nina Gail Carter and Theresa “Terry” McConnell; 1 sister; 4 brothers; and grandson Timothy Wayne Gray II.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Irene from 9:00-11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. The Milan American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will hold their services at 10:45 AM. Memorials may be given in honor of Irene to the Milan American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
