(Batesville, IN) – The City of Batesville’s 2026 paving project continues next week with work around Hoene Avenue.
Workers will dig out the approach to Hoene from 2nd Street on Monday, September 28 to alleviate a standing water issue on the south side of the intersection.
“With the new sidewalk curb ramps being poured, if it is left how it is, the ramp on the south side would be full of water,” said city engineer John Kuntz. “The concrete approach should help get the water to the north side of the intersection to the storm inlet north of Hoene Ave.”
Crews will pour concrete there the following day, which means it will need a few days to settle before you can drive on it.
As a result, the intersection will be closed until next Friday.
Officials say with the approach closed, Hoene Avenue and Cedar Lane will only be accessible from Huntersville Road.
