Metamora, In. — Two Franklin County bridges on U.S. 52 will close for construction in the fall of 2017.
The U.S. 52 bridges over the Whitewater River and the Whitewater Canal will receive a polymeric overlay designed to extend the life of the structure. The material used in the overlay will also increase traction and prevent moisture intrusive.
Eastbound traffic on U.S. 52 will be detoured through Batesville via State Road 229, I-74 and State Road 1. U.S. 52 westbound traffic will be detoured through Connersville via State Road 1, State Road 44 and State Road 121.
Work will begin in September and is scheduled to be complete by October 31.
