The 7th Grade Batesville basketball team fell to Milan Thursday night by a score of 36-30. Batesville’s hustle just couldn’t match Milan’s and that was the difference in the game. Leading in scoring for Batesville was Gus Prickel with 8, Jack Grunkemeyer with 7 and Conner Drake with 6. Also scoring for Batesville was Sam Johnson with 5 and Noah Pierson with 4. The Dogs are now 7 and 3 on the season.
The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team traveled to Milan where they were defeated by a score of 28-20. The Bulldogs led 10-8 after one quarter, but then got outscored 11-0 in the second quarter. Offensively, the team never really got much going all night. In the final quarter, the 8th Graders made a push defensively by holding the opposing team to zero points, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback. Bryson Bonelli led the way offensively with 8 points, followed by Lyle Oesterling (4), Jackson Renck (4), Max Baumer (2), and Will Sherwood (2). The Bulldogs fall to 2-8 on the season.
