LOGANSPORT, IN — A Marine from Indiana who was killed in the August 26 terrorist attack at the Kabul, Afghanistan airport has returned home.
Twenty-two-year-old Corporal Humberto Sanchez was one of 13 U.S. service members who died in the attack.
His body arrived at Grissom Air Reserve Base Sunday morning before a procession took him to a funeral home in Logansport.
Sanchez will be laid to rest tomorrow.
Meantime, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb is directing flags to be flown at half-staff to honor the life of Corporal Sanchez.
Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday, September 14.
The Governor is also asking businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff.
