2015 Academic All State has just been announced and Batesville had 3 who made Academic All-State First Team and 4 honorable mentions. Greensburg and North Decatur also have members.
Track’s qualifications for this award is pretty steep. GPA must be at least a 3.5, SAT score (Math and Reading ONLY) must be at least 1200 and/or PSAT score (Math and Reading ONLY) at least 120 and/or ACT composite score of at least 28. These are the
qualifications to be considered. First team is usually chosen with athletes who have 1300+ on SAT and ACT composite of 30+.
First Team Honorees include:
For Batesville-Kelsey Gausman, Clare Bruns, and Calvin Lehman.
For Greensburg-Shelby Pake.
For North Decatur-Eric Moorman, Zach Johnson, and Derek Hocker.
Honorable Mention honorees include:
For Batesville-Mary Elizabeth Elkins, Kevin Bedel, Jared Ilderton,
and Pete Heil.
For North Decatur-Megan Hoover.
