(Indianapolis, IN) – Gov. Mike Braun announced late Tuesday that President Donald Trump approved a major disaster declaration for Indiana following severe storms and flooding earlier this month.
The approval makes both individual and public assistance available in multiple counties.
Franklin, Decatur and Dearborn counties are among those receiving assistance to individuals and households.
In addition, Franklin County is included among those receiving public assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities.
The governor formally requested an expedited major disaster declaration on August 20 following historic storms and flooding across the state.
“I am pleased to share that my request for a major disaster declaration has been approved for multiple counties,” “Braun said. “Thank you, President Trump. This critical support will help Hoosiers recovering from historic storms and flooding. We’re grateful for this partnership as we work to rebuild, recover, and help communities get back on their feet.”
Counties not included in individual or public assistance may still be eligible pending additional review and data collection.
