IN House committee approves bill banning gender transition procedures for minors

Statehouse — The Indiana House Public Health Committee has approved a bill that would prohibit doctors from knowingly giving gender transition procedures to minors.

Senate Bill 480 would also ban the use of puberty blockers and hormone therapy.

The vote to approve was 8-5, with one Republican joining four Democrats in voting no.

The bill was previously approved in the Senate and moves onto the House floor for consideration.
