(Indianapolis, IN) – Delegates to the Indiana Democratic Party Convention chose former State Rep. and House Minority leader Terry Goodin as gubernatorial candidate Jennifer McCormick’s running mate on Saturday.

Goodin won with 79 percent of the vote and beat out Bob Kern and Clif Marsiglio to become the party’s Lt. Gov. nominee.

Goodin served as a State Representative from 2000 to 2020 in House District 66, which includes portions of Scott, Clark and Jefferson counties.

He was named the House Minority Leader in 2017.

Before heading to the Statehouse, Goodin served as Superintendent of Crothersville Community Schools for 24 years.

McCormick and Goodin will face the Republican ticket of U.S. Sen. Mike Braun and Micah Beckwith in November.
