(Rush County, IN) – Investigators have confirmed remains found in Rush County last week are those of missing teen Valerie Tindall.

The 17-year-old was last seen in June in the unincorporated community of Arlington, which is northwest of Rushville.

Patrick Scott was arrested in connection with Tindall’s disappearance and faces a murder charge.

The cause and manner of death are still under investigation.

“This is not the outcome we had hoped for,” said Rush County Sheriff Allan Rice. “This case is still under investigation to ensure those responsible are successfully prosecuted.”

Rice and his office are urging the public to come forward with any information that may assist investigators light of recent developments.

Anyone with information can call the Rush County Sheriff’s Office at (765) 932-2931.

Meanwhile, the Silver Alert issued when Tindall went missing was canceled over the weekend.
