HS baseball recaps from March 30

The following are varsity baseball recaps (unless stated otherwise) from Wedensday, March 30.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Southwestern Hanover posted a 13-7 win over Henryville and amassed 18 hits in the process.  Keegan Gross led the Rebels offensively with four hits, two runs and a ribbie.  Mason Lichlyter collected three hits while Zach Cole and William Stockdale recorded two hits each.  Jamison Lewis tossed five innings for the win.  He gave up three runs on three hits and struck out three.

Shawe dominated New Washington 16-zip in five innings.  Wyatt Nichter threw a one-hit shutout with seven Ks and no walks. Nichter also delivered at the dish with three hits and six RBI.  Jacob Hertz tripled and drove in three.  Louis Liu doubled twice and batted in two.

Connersville pitchers Brayden Lykins and Brayden Pearson combined to shut out Richmond 1-nothing.  Lykins started and went three.  Pearson threw the final four.  The Spartans had just four hits but managed to scratch out the game’s only run in the third.  Hits were logged by Gavin Lynch, Chance Bentley, Lykins and Pearson.

And Lawrenceburg beat Rising Sun 4-3 in 10 innings. The game ended on a walk-off sacrifice fly by Nolen Vertz.  The Tigers saw Devin Fluhmann smack a two-run dinger. And LHS pitchers Drew Lanning and Easton Rutzel combined to strike out 20 Shiners.
