Hope man arrested on multiple charges

Columbus, IN—Sunday evening, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputies were advised by an off-duty Hope Police officer that he observed Joshua Lucas, who had an outstanding warrant, in a silver Impala as it was leaving the area of the Circle K gasoline station.

A deputy located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The Deputy allegedly located a white crystal substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, on Lucas’s person as well as a brown powder that was suspected to be heroin.

Lucas was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:

Possession of heroin
Possession of methamphetamine
Warrant – Bartholomew County
Warrant – Out of County

He remains in BCJ without bond.
