VERSAILLES – A Holton man has been charged with two felony counts of child molesting following an incident involving a 9-year-old girl.
Charles Lovins, 37, was investigated by police after the girl told an interviewer with Children’s Advocacy Center in Dillsboro that she was inappropriately touched and offered money to do other sexual acts, the Versailles Republican reports.
The alleged incident happened in March and police first became aware after a teacher noticed a note the girl passed to a fellow student.
According to the newspaper, Lovins did not deny some allegations made by the child but said he did offer money or tell her to not to tell anyone.
He was charged September 5.
