Holton Food Mart robber sentenced

court-gavelVERSAILLES, Ind. — The man who burglarized the Holton Food Mart this past June has been sentenced to 3 years in prison.

Bryan P. Goodpaster, 21, of North Vernon committed the break-ins on 2 consecutive nights this past June, and took cigarettes and an empty cash register from the store.

Police say surveillance video helped to identify him.

Goodpaster plead guilty to 1 count of burglary.

Judge Ryan King sentenced Goodpaster to 3 years in prison and 3 years on probation.

He received credit for 224 days served in jail prior to his sentencing.

The judge also ordered Goodpaster to pay $2,000 in restitution to the Holton Food Mart.
