High winds lead to downed trees, power lines on Saturday

Southeastern IN — High winds caused some problems around the area on Saturday.

There were a number of calls to Franklin County dispatch for downed trees blocking roads.

A tree was reported down on a house in the Laurel area.

New Trenton firefighters were sent to US 52 near St. Peter’s Road after power lines fell into a tree and started a fire.

There were also reports of downed trees and other wind-related damage on eastbound I-74 in Batesville and in the St. Paul area, among others.

As of Monday morning, there were no reports of injuries.
