Helen “Toots” Lattire, age 88 of Batesville, Indiana, passed away with her family by her side on January 19, 2024. Helen was born April 13, 1935, to Otto and Leona Moorman (nee: Laker) in Connersville, Indiana.
Toots married her husband Larry on October 11, 1958. They were together for 39 years and had five beautiful children.
Toots was a go-getter and one of the most hard-working, strong-willed women you’d ever meet. She took pride in keeping her lawn in excellent condition. You could find her outside in any weather ensuring her yard and landscaping looked pristine.
Toots was also an excellent homemaker who loved life and her family. You would rarely find her sitting down, as she’d want to ensure everyone in her home was comfortable, had what they needed, and were enjoying themselves while there. Toots mostly enjoyed her Sunday’s playing cards with family and friends while listening and dancing to bluegrass music, specifically “Rocky Top”. She was a light in everyone’s life. Even in her final days, she welcomed everyone with open arms.
Toots was preceded in death by her spouse Larry, and two brothers Virgil and Jimmy Moorman. She is survived by her six siblings: Janet Blair, Ruthann Werner, Rita Fledderman, Joanie Wuestefeld, Tommy Moorman, and Mary Wolters; her children Tim (Liz) Lattire, Patti (David) Fullenkamp, Suzanne (Clint) Hon, Rob (Michele) Lattire, and Wendi Weiler; her 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren plus two on the way.
