Heidlage’s Walk-Off Seals The Deal In Bulldogs Victory Over Tigers

Batesville defeated Lawrenceburg 4-3 on Monday thanks to a walk-off double. The game was tied at three with the Bulldogs batting in the bottom of the seventh when Trey Heidlage doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Lawrenceburg fired up the offense in the first inning, when Hartman singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Despite the Bulldogs leading 3-1 after four innings, Lawrenceburg evened things up at three in the top of the fifth inning when Hartman singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Lane Oesterling (5-0) was the winning pitcher for Batesville. He went seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out 11.

Austin Weimer took the loss for Lawrenceburg. He surrendered four runs on five hits over six and a third innings, striking out three.

Calvin Sherwood, Sam Voegele, Heidlage, Quinn Werner, and Oesterling each managed one hit to lead the Bulldogs.

Lawrenceburg collected six hits on the day. Weimer and Hartman each managed multiple hits for Lawrenceburg.

With the win, the Bulldogs record improves to 8-10 and 4-4 in the EIAC. They will play Greensburg on Tuesday.
