Heat Advisory in Place Thru Fourth

(Southeastern IN) – Once the Extreme Heat Warning expires tonight at 8, a Heat Advisory will take its place and will be in effect until 8 p.m. Saturday.

Heat index values up to 100 are expected during the Heat Advisory.

Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

You’re urged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms and out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car, truck and SUV interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing.

Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.

Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
