Health Officials Provide Update on Presumptive Positive Case

Brookville ,IN—Franklin County Health Officials provided an update on Franklin County’s first presumptive positive case for COVID-19. Officials have remained in contact with this person and their family throughout the self-quarantine.
The individual, a male in his early 40’s, is recovering well at home where he and his family remain in self-quarantine. Health officials report that the individual continues to self-assess, although he no longer shows any symptoms of the illness. The family, who has shown no symptoms of the illness, also continue to self-assess.
Officials emphasize the importance for everyone to follow guidelines set by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC):
-Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.
-Avoid touching your face.
-Avoid crowded areas or gatherings of 10 or more people.
-Stay at home as much as possible, only going out for groceries, medical appointments, medicines, etc.
-Avoid close contact, stay a minimum of 6 feet away from others.
-Cover your mouth with a tissue or your elbow when you cough or sneeze.
Self-assess for symptoms by taking your temperature with a thermometer twice daily. If you begin to show signs of fever of 100.5 or higher, worsening cough and shortness of breath, contact your medical provider for advice.
