Harriett C Mendell, 92, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away October 2, 2017 in Aurora, Indiana.
She was born December 8, 1924, in Aurora, Indiana, daughter of the late Everett and Viola Ascherman.
She worked for Peoples Building & Loan, retiring after over 25 years of service.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in her early years she was very active in the church. Harriett was a member of the Alter Society as well as other groups. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed crossword puzzles. Harriett loved to be with family.
Surviving are sons, Gregory (Connie McNamee) Mendell of Aurora, IN, Stephen (Bonnie) Mendell of Aurora, IN; granddaughter, Liza Parrott of Fort Thomas, KY; great-grandchild, Isaiah Parrott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mendell, parents, Everett and Viola Ascherman, and brother Norman Ascherman.
Friends will be received Thursday, October 5, 2017, 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 203 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, at 11:00 am with Father Stephen Donahue officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
