Harold Glenn Meeks “Eagle”, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at his home. He was 78. Born in Casey County, Kentucky on November 29, 1946, he was the son of the late Lewis Raymond Meeks and Hollis Patterson Meeks.
He was employed for 28 years at NTN-BCA and U.S. Securities Associates for 10 years. He was a U.S Army Veteran, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Harold was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, enjoyed playing softball and fishing in his younger years, transitioning to golf in his golden years. He was a proud Kentucky Wildcats fan and loved being a Papaw most of all.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Sylvia Hartman Meeks, daughter Debra (Chris) McKinney of Adams, daughter Shannon (Duane) Smith of St. Paul, and son Tony Meeks of Adams; grandchildren Kylie (Tony) Jackson, Christion (Kelsey) McKinney, Morgan (Braden) Jones, and Devon Meeks; great-grandchildren Kamdenn McKinney, Cannon, Javi, and Mavren Jackson, and Lainey McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his 12 siblings: Vernon Meeks, Lela Nolde, Ruth Catron, Louise Simpson, Carlis Meeks, Victor Meeks, Lewis Meeks, Fayrene Meeks, Maylene Meeks, Bobby Meeks, Homer Meeks, and Billy Meeks.
Family and friends will gather to pray the rosary on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 3:30 PM at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A visitation will follow the rosary from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, also at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial will take place at Hebron Cemetery in Adams with military honors by the American Legion Post 129.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
