(Indianapolis, IN) – Governor Eric Holcomb has signed into law a bill that clears the way for Happy Hour at Indiana bars and restaurants.

House Enrolled Act 1086 lifts the nearly 40-year-old ban on drink specials.

It allows establishments to serve alcoholic beverages at reduced prices during designated hours.

Happy Hour discount drink specials had been illegal in Indiana since 1985.

That’s when the ban went into effect in an effort to crack down on drunk driving incidents.

The governor signed HEA 1086 into law at an Indianapolis bar on Thursday.
