H.S. softball recaps from Tuesday, May 10

The following are high school softball recaps from Tuesday, May 10.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

South Decatur and Jac-Cen-Del went extras.  The Cougars won 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth.

For the Cougars, Kassidy Haley doubled twice and Loryn Pate singled with an RBI.  Lakota Henry was the winning pitcher with nine strikeouts.

The Eagles Maria Meyer singled and doubled.  Savannah James struck out five and did not allow an earned run.

East Central was a 12-3 winner over Batesville.

The Trojans Payge Callahan and Lexi Hatmaker both had three-hit games.  Callahan had a triple and Hatmaker picked up an RBI.  Karlie Davis and Kerigan Schuck both had a pair of hits and a ribbie.  Additional runs were plated by Anna Black, Brynn Wilhelm, Emily Klem and Delaney Donawerth.

The Bulldogs Emma Belter singled and homered with two RBI and Maggie Wilson doubled with a ribbie.  Defensively, Belter picked off two Trojans at third base and played well behind the dish.

EC’s JV beat the Batesville reserves 8-1.

For the BHS JV, Renne Lecher doubled and batted in a run.  Georgia Mertz also had a two-base hit.

North Decatur defeated Oldenburg 26-0.  The Chargers had 15 runs cross the plate in the third.

Kacie Ogden, Raegan Nobbe and Kayln Muckerhide amassed three hits apiece.  Sarah Swain, Keesha Crosland, Elizabeth Custer, Ally Whitaker and Clair Kinker had two each.

Connersville lost 12-4 to New Palestine.   This marked only the third loss of the year for CHS.

The Spartans Baylie Spurlock tripled with an RBI and Paige Dunaway singled with a ribbie.
