The following are high school softball recaps from Thursday, April 14. All games are varsity unless noted otherwise. There may be updates, so please check back.
South Ripley erased a 5-1 deficit in Madison and beat the host Cubs 9-6. The Raiders scored eight runs during the fifth and sixth innings.
Ripley had 16 hits. Ellie Waldron recorded four of them. Alexa Heidt singled, doubled and tripled with three RBI. Mady Tompkins and Olivia Cavanaugh both collected three hits. And Brooklyn Brown bashed a three-run homer, the first of her career. Tompkins got the win pitching three innings of relief.
Madison had just four hits. Cam Mann doubled with an RBI. Ava Armbrecht was the pitcher of record.

Connersville handed Richmond a 14-1 defeat and racked up 21 hits in the process. CHS posted 11 runs in the first inning.
Sara Ruble had four of them including a double and a home run. Spartan teammates Baylie Spurlock, Paige Dunaway, McKenna Lucas, Carmen Ruble, Bre Brock and Shelby Wolski all had two hits. Brock was also the winning pitcher.

Franklin County picked up a 3-0 victory in Rushville. The Wildcats KK Ferman pitched a five-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and no walks.
FC teammates Anne Becker and Brooke Stang both had two hits. Maci Lake drove in two runs with a single and sacrifice fly.

Franklin County’s JV rolled over Rushville 32-4. The Wildcats put nine runs on the board in the first inning and 15 in the third.
For the FC JV, Lillie Graf had four hits with two doubles and three RBI. Tiffany Billman drove in four on a single, double and triple. Bella Lee doubled twice and singled with two ribbies. Emma Stadtmiller had a trio of singles and one RBI, and Hope Gardner batted in three runs on a single and a two bagger.
