H.S. softball recaps from Monday, April 11

The following are high school softball recaps from Monday, April 11.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

South Ripley defeated Switzerland County 4-1 in Vevay.

For the Raiders, Mady Tompkins pitched a complete game collecting 13 strikeouts against four hits and one earned run. Cassie Franklin singled and doubled with an RBI. Alexa Heidt tripled while Emily Campbell and Brooklyn Brown both drove in a run.

For the Pacers, Lily Sparks had two hits and Hailey Sainz batted in the team’s only run on a sacrifice fly.  Sparks took the loss in the circle and had eight strikeouts against one walk and five hits.

East Central beat Batesville 10-2.  The Trojans opened the game up with a six-run, fifth inning.

EC’s Lexi Hatmaker tossed 6-1/3 innings to earn the win.  She gave up one earned run on one hit and three walks while striking out 10.  At the plate, Hatmaker blasted a three-run homer.

The St. Leon ladies had eight hits but Jordyn Mauer was the only player with two which included a double.  She also batted in a run.  Payge Callahan doubled with two RBI. Kerigan Schuck had the team’s other ribbie.

For Batesville, Calli Fletcher had a hit and two RBI.  Kaylin Hinners and Emma Belter were the only other two Bulldogs who singled.
