H.S. softball recaps from Friday, April 15

The following are high school softball recaps from Friday, April 15.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

South Ripley improved to 5-0 with a 6-3 victory against Lawrenceburg.

The Raiders Ellie Waldron drove in three runs on a single and a double, Mady Tompkins had two hits and a ribbie, Emily Campbell singled twice and Morgan Meyer batted in a run.  Tompkins pitched a complete game scattering nine hits while striking out 13.

For the Tigers, Courtney Sauntry and Meghan Heinsman both had two hits.  Sauntry’s pair included a two bagger and two RBI.

Switzerland County defeated Jac-Cen-Del 14-1.

For the Pacers, Lily Sparks was a double shy of the cycle at the plate (single, triple, home run) with five RBI.  In the circle, she gave up five hits and fanned 11.  Teammate Bri Stow had three hits with a double and three RBI.  Maddie Duvall drove in two, Kayla Cutter singled and tripled with one RBI while Jessie Duvall added two singles.

Batesville lost a 6-5 decision to Madison.  Three BHS erros led to four Cub runs.

For the Bulldogs, Calli Fletcher plated two runs on a triple and a single.  Sarah Ripperger batted in a pair of runs on a base hit and a sac bunt.  Sophie Lee and Renne Lecher both doubled.

Casey Dyer led the Cubs with two singles, a double and an RBI.  Ava Armbrecht collected three RBI on a couple of hits.

Hauser beat North Decatur 4-1.  ND was held to five hits.

The Chargers Macy Scudder had one of them and batted in the team’s only run.  Sarah Swain doubled.

For the Jets, Reagan Johnson posted two singles, a double and two RBI. Kyra Meister and Kenze Bostic both had two hits and an RBI.  One of Bostic’s hits was a bomb.  Paige McDaniel struck out 10 and walked one in the victory.
