H.S. softball recaps from April 8 and 9

The following are high school softball recaps from April 8 and 9.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Southwestern Hanover had two huge wins in a round robin. The Rebels rolled to a 22-2 final over Oldenburg.  Chloey Leach, Ashley Fulton, Morgan Mahoney, Jenny Tankersley and Nataley Morrison all had two hits.

Leach drove in six runs, Fulton batted in three and Riley Scroggins brought home two on a triple.  Fulton struck out six in the win.

The Hanover ladies also blanked Cannelton 16-0.  Fulton homered twice and knocked in four runs. Mahoney and Emily Hatton also had a dinger.  Mahoney drove in two.  Hatton’s was a solo shot.  Trinity McClain had three hits.  Leach threw a three hitter with four strikeouts and had two hits of her own at the plate.

North Decatur was a winner over Morristown 14-8.

The Chargers Sarah Swain had five RBI on a triple, double and a fielder’s choice. Keesha Crosland, Kacie Ogden and Macy Scudder all had a multi-hit game. Crosland was the winning pitcher going four innings. Swain picked up a three-inning save.

For the Yellow Jackets, Kristen Whitney had three hits while Delaney Cornn had two. Whitney was the pitcher of record.
