H.S. girls tennis recaps from Saturday, April 23

The following are high school girls tennis recaps from Saturday, April 23.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Southwestern won the Southern Indiana Conference Tournament held in Hanover.  Milan was second.  The Indians beat Trinity Lutheran 3-2 in the opening round then fell 5-0 to the host Rebels in the finals.

Milan winners against Trinity included Margot Keller (6-1, 7-6) in singles and the doubles combos of Riley Clark with Ariel Haessig (6-3, 6-2) and Isabelle Kroner with Alyssa Phelps who won a three-set thriller (1-6, 7-6, 11-9).

At the Richmond Girls Tennis Invitational, Oldenburg topped Alexandria 44-37 to win the event.  East Central finished third with 34 points.  Connersville placed sixth out of eight with 12 points.

OA’s Alyssa Wanstrath at third singles along with the first doubles team of Evelyn Storms and Mimi Wilder won their flight of matches.  All other OA positions were 2-1.

East Central’s Heidi Kane won her flight at first singles while Kerstin Ellis was Connersville’s top finisher going 2-1 in the same division.
