H.S. baseball recaps from Wednesday, May 4

The following are high school baseball recaps from Wednesday, May 4.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Jac-Cen-Del shut out Shawe 7-0.  All seven runs came in the home sixth inning.

The Eagles Landon Comer pitched a no hitter with 11 strikeouts and three walks.  He also knocked in a pair of runs at the plate.

Other offensive production from JCD came on two hits by Ryan Wilson and a base knock and RBI each from Kameron Darnold, Clark Dwenger and Justin Swinney.

Shawe reported a bunt single by Philip Kahn.

Southwestern beat Rising Sun 2-1 in eight innings.  The Rebels benefited from three walks issued by Shiner pitching in the extra frame.

William Stockdale and Gage Porter drove in the two runs for team Hanover.  Zach Cole pitched all eight innings for the win with 11 strikeouts and three walks.

Ashton McCarty had the only ribbie for the Shiners.  Teammate Peyton Merica pitched the first seven innings in a no decision with four Ks and a walk.

The win for Southwestern keeps the Rebels on top of the ORVC and one game ahead of Milan and Switzerland County in the loss column.

Switzerland County shut out South Ripley 12-0.

Pacer pitcher Evan Halstenberg threw a one hitter with six strikeouts..  The Raiders only hit came from Ryan Gorrell.

Halstenberg, Cam Craig and Kaleb Koons all had two hits Switz.  Halstenberg drove in three runs. Craig plated two.
