H.S. baseball recaps from Monday, May 2

The following are high school baseball recaps from Monday, May 2.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates so please check back.

Batesville routed Lawrenceburg 13-2 thanks in large part to a nine-run third inning.

The Bulldogs Travis Lecher and Jack Grunkemeyer both had three hits with a double and two RBI.  Jacob Meer doubled with a pair of ribbies.  Grunkemeyer pitched five innings for the win with seven strikeouts.  Luke Wilson had two hitless and scoreless frames in relief with a couple of Ks.

The Tigers were limited to five hits.  Andrew Myers had the team’s only run batted in.

East Central defeated South Dearborn 5-3.

The Trojans Brayden Rouse double and homered with three RBI.  Sam Bond singled and doubled with one ribbie.  Daniel Brayton pitched a complete game for the win and struck out six.

For the Knights, Reese Willoughby had three hits, brother Ryan and Max Burger had two while Dylan Wynn batted in two runs.

Jac-Cen-Del lost 10-0 to Rising Sun.

The Shiners Jonathan Jiminez threw a one-hitter with nine strikeouts.  Teammate Dylan McKinley had three hits with four RBI.  Jimenez, Peyton Creech and Peyton Merica all collected two singles with a ribbie.

The Eagles only hit was recorded by Kameron Darnold.

Connersville was a 9-2 winner over Rushville.

The Spartans Braxton Myers, Kolton DeBoard and Gavin Pearson all had two hits.  Myers drove in three.  Pearson brought home one and was also the winning pitcher with three strikeouts.

Rushville’s Harley Fuller and Maurice Manghelli both booked two hits in the loss.

Oldenburg fell 5-0 to Southwestern Hanover.

The Rebels Jordan DeAtley gave up only four hits in the seven-inning shutout and fanned seven.  Teammates Zach Cole and Gage Ponder both had a couple of hits.  Ponder plated a run.

Switzerland County beat Shawe 10-0.

The Pacers Jackson Sparks threw a three-hitter with eight strikeouts.  Austin Bowsaw had a four-hit game with two RBI.  Roman Hite drove in four runs on two triples and a single.  Cam Craig batted in three runs with a single and double.

Of the Hilltoppers three hits, Hunter Kennett’s went for two bases.

Milan tripled up South Ripley 21-7.  The Indians scored eight times in the second inning and finished the day with 17 hits.

Top Tribe hitters with three each were Jacob McGuire and Caiden Yorn with three each,  McGuire homered. Logan Burton, Quenten Strassell, Jackson Voss and Holden Acra all had two knocks each.

For the Raiders, Gabe Block and Joey Davis both had two hits.  Block and Trent Smith had an RBI while Dalton Smith drove in two.

In JV baseball game, Lawrenceburg edged Batesville 5-4.

The Tigers won the game in the bottom of the seventh on a walk-off double by Teagan Bennett.

Alex Kreckler had a two RBI double for the Bulldogs.

North Decatur lost 13-0 to Hauser.  The Jets Koby Johnson pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

The Chargers lone base hit was a first inning single by Reid Messer.  Grant Louden and Sam Miller both had two hits for Hauser.
