H.S. baseball recaps from Monday, April 18

The following are high school baseball recaps from Monday, April 18. All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

East Central scored 11 times in the fourth inning and blanked Connersville 18-0.

Sam Huston pitched a three hitter for the St. Leon lads striking out six and walking one.  Huston helped himself at the plate with a pair of doubles, a base hit and two runs batted in.

Other Trojan top hitters included Josh Ringer with two singles, a double and five RBI.  Luke Vogelgesang singled, doubled and homered with four ribbies, and Ryan Bovard had a base knock, a two bagger and plated two runs.

Lawrenceburg beat Rushville 6-5 in eight innings.

For the Tigers, Andrew Myers had two hits with an RBI.  Easton Rutzel also drove in two runs and pitched five innings of relief for the win.  He struck out six. Niko Feirrera and Tanner Fox both drove in a run on a hit.

Kameron Morton batted in two runs for the Lions.  Adam Sizemore tripled with an RBI.

Southwestern scored a 16-1 victory over South Ripley.

Gage Ponder, William Stockdale and Zach Cole all had two hits for the Rebels.  Ponder batted in four runs, Stockdale knocked in three and Cole brought home two.  Jamison Lewis got the five-inning win on the bump with eight strikeouts against three hits and two walks.

For the Raiders, Gabe Block doubled and brought home the team’s only run.
