H.S. baseball recaps from Monday, April 11

The following are high school baseball recaps from Monday, April 11.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Batesville won 10-4 at East Central.  The Bulldogs never trailed after scoring four times in the second inning.

Charlie Schebler got the win for BHS pitching four innings of relief.  He fanned eight, walked one and gave up one earned run.  Sam Huston was the EC starter and pitcher of record.

Offensively for the Bulldogs, Max Baumer and Travis Lecher both had two hits.  Baumer also tripled and knocked in two runs.  Schebler batted in two with a hit.  Lecher, Jack Grunkemeyer, Zach Wade and Will Sherwood all had one RBI.

Andrew Roy booked two hits and one RBI for the Trojans. Luke Vogelsang hit a solo home run and Josh Ringer collected one ribbie.  The EC defense committed three errors which led to three unearned runs.

The Class 3A No. 3 Bulldogs are now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the EIAC.

South Ripley was shut out by Switzerland County 13-0.

Pacer pitcher Roman Hite threw a five-inning one hitter.  He also tripled and batted in a pair of runs.  Teammates Bryce Turner singled and homered with four RBI, Kaleb Koons had two hits and a ribbie while Cam Craig tripled with an RBI.

Ryan Gorrell got the Raiders only hit. Gabe Block was South Ripley’s pitcher of record.

Oldenburg defeated Waldron 11-1 in five frames.

Nick Folop pitched a complete game for OA striking out 10 while giving up one run on three hits and four walks.  Cy Muckerheide, Tyler Wuestefeld and Caleb Greiwe all had two Twister hits.

Jacob Lindsey was the pitcher of record for Waldron going four innings.  Teammate Corbin Yantiss singled with an RBI.
