H.S. baseball recaps from Friday, April 15

The following are high school baseball recaps from Friday, April 15.  All games are varsity unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

Franklin County edged Connersville 7-6.

Wildcat pitcher Brant Ertel tossed five innings for the win. He also helped himself at the plate with a single and a two-run homer.  Adam Daugherty posted two hits and three RBI.  The game ended on a great catch by Remy Watters in left who then doubled up a runner.

For the Spartans, Bryaden Lykins and Braxton Myers both had two hits.  Lykins produced a bases loaded triple in the second.

Batesville lost 14-6 to Lawrence North.  The Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead but the Wildcats responded with eight runs in the third.

For BHS, Jacob Meer had three hits, Zach Wade singled and smacked a two-run tater while Charlie Schebler doubled twice.

Jake Winzenread, Trevor Jones, Owen Quinn and Coby Stephens all had two hits and two ribbies for Lawrence North.  Winzenread and Quinn both went yard once.

Jac-Cen-Del fell 4-1 to Lawrenceburg.

For the Tigers, Nolen Vertz struck out 10 over five innings.  TJ Tibbets had a two inning save with three Ks.  Andrew Myers and Kyle Heeney both doubled.

The Eagles only hit came from Justin Swinney that brought home Ryan Wilson in the third.

East Central shut out South Ripley 17-0.  The Trojans amassed 10 runs in the first inning.

EC’s Brayden Rouse had a big day with five RBI on two doubles and a home run.  Teammates Sam Bond drove in four on a double and a triple while Josh Ringer singled, doubled and knocked in two.

Trojan pitcher Coleton Stath threw a two-hit shutout, striking out 11 and walking just one.  The hits went to the Raiders Gabe Block and Jacob Ivey.

North Decatur lost 7-0 to Hauser.

Koby Johnson and Holden Pittman combined on a three-hit shutout for the Jets.  Johnson struck out 14 and walked five over six innings for the win.

Reid Messer, Jake Mirick and Brayden Hancock were the only Chargers to reach base by hit.
